To straighten hair: Working with 1-2" hair sections, glide the iron from roots to ends slowly and steadily. You may run a finetooth comb through the hair ahead of the iron to distribute the hair evenly on the iron's surface.

To wave or curl hair: Close the iron over a 1-2" hair section at the place where you want the wave to begin and rotate the tool 180 degrees. With firm tension, slowly pull the iron through the hair clockwise all the way through the ends. For a loose wave, comb through your styled hair.
